Decorating for Christmas
Kyle doesn't wait for Christmas to decorate - - - he does it all year round, and here's how he adorns the entry hall:
He "decorates" other areas of our house too - - - - but I won't show those here. Hehehehehehe
I don't begin my Christmas decorating process as early as the rest of the world does, but - - -
Today is D for Decoration-day. Take a peek:
Our 9 foot tree - - - - naked but for the lights, it's a pre-lit tree. (There is a WHOLE story about why we have a 9 foot tree - - - - - maybe I'll tell it later.)
This naked tree has been standing in our family room for an entire week, unfluffed and undressed, waiting for me to have the time to clothe it.
I started fluffing this morning, and very soon I'll start to add the flair.

I'll bet the tree has something to do with Mr. Griswald??? Grandpa Jim will be happy to know you have started decorating!!!! Watch out for the ladder...remember what happened to Henry...or maybe that's why Doris decided to do it herself to not have to listen to Henry complain about broken leg!!!Ha! Ha! ":>)"
"Henry" IS "helping." This includes sprawling out in his chair, eyes closed, heavy snoring.
Actually - - - his part of the "help" was getting this 9 foot monstrosity (yes, it is HIS monstrosity) set up in the first place. He also spent more than a day working on the lights to get them working.
WARNING to all who, like us, think pre-lit will be a time saver - - - it IS a time saver - - - - - - - - right up until the moment the bulbs start burning out.
Maybe snoring is better than listening to "tacky, tacky, tacky". You know I have the skit memorized!!!!
I do hope they don't all go out when one burns out!!!
Well, it takes more than one - - - - but if several burn out, yes - - - an entire string goes out. So, Greg spent a day or more testing bulbs and replacing. He got some to work, but then he gave up and just added a new string in the 'old fashioned' way.
LOL Mom you and your opinions!!! =)
You'll have to do the before and after picture of the tree.
I'm working on pictures of the whole house Christmasized. Greg has arisen from his slumber, but instead of visions of sugar plums dancing in his head, he has visions of getting EVERY bulb on that tree working - - - - - so he's down there with some electronic gadget or other making beeping noises which are supposed to be telling him which bulbs to replace. I can't get to the tree with him doing that - - - - - - I have everything else decorated - - - - - just waiting for room to get to the tree. :-)
It all looks beautiful.
Everything looks beautiful! I'm so proud of you for being so productive this weekend!
Awww, all so cheery looking...much better than the depressed "the Colts look like a bad high school team" picture! Merry Christmas!!
Thank you, Cindy for visiting my blog - - - and me - - - so often. You make my day every time you come.
And, Merry Christmas to you, too!!
When I first saw the "shoes waiting to be worn outside" my first thought was....how did you get everyone trained so quickly...how cute that they are all Kyle's (just ready to be jumped in) Ha!!!
You say cute - - - I say ANNOYING!!!! I CAN'T seem to get him trained to take them up to his room. I don't mind ONE pair by the front door - - - - but really, does he need to permanently STORE all his shoes right there?????
Periodically I haul them all upstairs, and that lasts for about 10 minutes.
Tell Kyle, he can come to Grammy's and leave any amount he wants to at my front door!!!! Ha!!! (just don't ask Greg & Jeany if I allowed them to do that) Another Ha!!!
I don't need to ask - - - - I'm pretty sure you DID NOT allow shoes to pile up at the door.
It would be different if I had 5 or 6 sons living here - - - one pair each might be expected. BUT Kyle goes a bit overboard, don't ya think?
Those shoes are like bunnies - - - they keep multiplying. I just went past there on my way up here, and there were even MORE of them than before.
