Greg 'n Keetha Stuff

OK, let's be honest. This is really KEETHA stuff. Sometimes I write about Greg - - - but he has never in his life made one single post of his own. He has occasionally made a comment or two. So - - - come on in and visit with me, Keetha, for a while. I'd love it if you left your foot prints. (Interpretation: COMMENT PLEASE ;-)

As If - - - -

I wasn't already addicted enough to blogging, I had to copy Jaena and add a site meter to my blog. That has added a whole new dimension to blogging, and one more LONG stop on my daily blogging fixes.

When I added the site meter, I just wanted to feed my own craving to know HOW many people were actually looking at my blog. Well, I take that back - - - - not really how many people but how many visits to my blog.

What I DID NOT KNOW was how much OTHER fascinating (thank you Keri for that word) information I could learn by studying the site meter!! Information like the locations of all these visitors to my site, complete with maps which can zoom in and out, pie graphs, line graphs and bar graphs.

I've had visitors from all kinds of places where I'm sure I don't know a soul - - - - "exotic" places like Moline Illinois, Leesburg Virginia, Shippensburg Pennsylvania, and Newton Kansas!!!! Shippensburg - - - - whoever heard of a place called Shippensburg????? How fun is this!!!!

Then, what about other countries????? Visitors from The British Isles, "Unknown Country" (I feel so badly for that Country no one knows) and my PERSONAL favorite, Pomezia Lazio Italy!!!!!!! Pomezia Lazio - - - - how romantic does THAT sound???? And to think, I can have all this fun, travel to all these places, and never leave the comfort of my desk chair.

I think I'm in Heaven ;-)

You probably do. When you go to that page that lists the locations, have you clicked at the bottom of the chart on the little (1) (2) (3) etc?

Also - - - - it only goes back to the last 100 visits I believe.

You just love your site meter, don't you? You'll be spending more time viewing that than your comments. :)

I liked the site meter at first too, but now I don't really care anymore. Not sure why I have site meter apathy...

I had to delete my first comment(misspelling); thought you might want to know who deleted their comment since it always makes me wonder.

Anon - - - - NEVER!!! I'll just try to divide my blog time up evenly!!!

Keri - - - - sorry, there HAVE been a couple of time (like when you didn't know how to GET a site meter) when I have figured something or other out that you didn't know.

While it is certainly true that you are much more technology savvy than moi, I do have my occasional moments. :-)

Jaena - - - - kick your site meter apathy in the shins and join us. Hehehehehe

I have fun looking at your site meter, but I don't want to put one on my blog. It would become another excuse to waste time. Or, maybe I could cut down on the time I play Freecell - nah.

I think the towns listed are where the internet service provider has their connection to the internet trunk. For example, my mailing address town doesn't show up, but I can tell which one I am on the meter. That may also be why one entry shows up as "unknown country." Their ISP may be located elsewhere.

I think a lot of people surf the blogs based on interests. Maybe we should put "lemon bars" on someone's profile. I bet the number of hits would go up!

Too fun - - - - - I'm going to put it on my profile and see what happens. Also, once I put it there, I can surf around and find others who have also listed it.

Good question, and I didn't know the answer.

I'm not POSITIVE yet that I know the answer - - - - but it appears to me upon investigation that I show up as Indianapolis.

Wow, this is pretty cool! Mom was talking about it this morning so had to check it out. I show up as Austell, GA.

Keetha, I loved your comments about the different countries, anthropomorphizing is such a great way of infusing humor.

Looks like lots has been happening in our blog world!!! So glad to be back. I explained on Keri's site where all I have been. But forgot to tell you about my experience trying to get a "site meter" for my computer. When I read your comments I knew I had to have one. Went to every store in Dosta and asked if they had one...they acted like I didn't know what I was talking about and I said "you know, like my blogging friends, Keetha, Keri, Anon, Amanda, Haley, Mug Shot,BFC, Cheeky Monkey, Aunt Jeany" and they would just walk away from me...hmmmmm??? one of them did tell me it must be a part of my 'puter so came home, tore 'puter all apart and still could not find anything like "site meter" so had to put it all back together so I could catch up with bloggers and.....I'M BAAACCCKKK!!!!

Jeany - - - - there you go with the big words again, where's my google search - - - - -

OK, now you can't go to my site meter page that gives all the details can you??? So, how do you know that you show up as Austell GA??????

Grammy - - - you are CRACKING me up about the site meter. All you have to do is click on ours and it will take you to the homepage where you can set your own up.

How funny would it be if someone actually WENT in a store and asked to buy one. Hehehehehehehe

Keetha, did you fix it so I couldn't go to your site meter? I was checking it out and figured Austell was me. It is kinda interesting.

Grammy, you are so funny! I have to admit, I don't always get your obscure references but when I do, they tickle me.

Actually Jeany, I wasn't trying to keep YOU off my site meter. Dummy me, I didn't know I had left it OPEN for the entire world to see - - - - - - - Keri had to EDUCATE me about it.

So, I did change my security parameters to keep OTHERS whom I don't know, and don't know what or why they might want from there - - - to keep THEM off.

Sorry to rain on your parade!!!
