Changing My Skin
Since my beloved Colts bit the playoff dust last weekend, one of my students loaned me this, said I MUST wear it for the game, and he expected me to BLOG about it.
Happy to oblige. I'm pulling for my home state team AND wearing their colors. This is REALLY deja vu for me as I was a Packer fan all through high school.
TRIVIA QUESTION: Whose jersey am I wearing?
GO PACKERS!!!!

Ding ding ding - - - -you get the prize!!!s
Now fess up, who told you? Chris??? Does HE really get the prize?
We think it's one of those Burchell Boys!! tee/hee ~Jaye -n- Brian!!
No - - - - I meant what FOOTBALL player was #15.
Korie was right - - - she beat you to it. However, I'm thinking SOMEONE told her or she googled it.
I was going to say a Packer's jersey...ha ha...I'm so short of my morning coffee...I NEED to walk down the hall and get a cup! (or five...ha ha)
Sorry for the Packer loss...what a good game!
Well, at least one of the Mannings was on the winning side.
One Manning for sure - - - but now what?!? I've considered PRETENDING to pull for the Patriots to win in an attempt to make them lose, but somehow I don't think that will work.
yea c lance is the true winner
Christopher found this on a Colts blog and I like it as much as he does so I have to share... This anonymous guy puts it in perfect perspective.
Some people think that winning is all that matters. These people will likely never change. In your comment you've mentioned 16-0, 17-0, 19-0, 3 SBs, and 4 SBs (not in that order). You, like many other Pats fans we've seen in the last few days, base most of your argument on the Pats' recent successes. There can be no questioning that your team is the most successful of the current decade (millennium for that matter, to feed your delusions of grandeur).
But then you assume that everybody who has anything negative to say about the Pats is "jealous." This assumption presumes that winning is all that matters to everybody else as well. Well, I can't speak for everybody, but as for me, I'm SOOOOOOOOO glad that Indianapolis has the team we have and not your team.
I'm so glad that I don't have to make excuses for Belichick -- you know, the one who breaks the rules after repeated warnings, acts like an ass during such perfunctory parts of his job like mid-field hand shakes and press conferences, forces concussed players back onto the field before they're given medical clearance, cheats on his wife... well you get the idea.
I'm so glad I don't have to make excuses for Randy Moss -- you know, the one who runs over traffic cops, plays when he feels like it and cheats the fans and his teammates when he doesn't feel like it, moons crowds, and has been a cancer everywhere that he has played to date.
I'm so glad that I don't have to make excuses for Rodney Harrison -- you know, the most fined player in the league, the guy who spent the first four games of the year watching because he was suspended for taking HGH, the guy that is consistently voted one of the dirtiest players in the league by his peers.
I'm so glad I don't have to make excuses for Vince Wilfork -- you know, the dirty player who has been fined for cheap shots three times this season alone, including taking out J. P. Losman's knee and trying to poke out Brandon Jacobs' eye.
I could go on and on with the Vrabels and Corey Dillons of the past few years, but my fingers are getting tired from listing all the complete jackasses that have called the Pats their team.
Yes, your team is successful, and nobody can take that away from you. Success in one's job is important. But Mussolini got the trains to run on time. See what I'm saying?
So you can have your three and maybe four championships. I'll take our one, and hope for several more.
And in the meantime, I won't feel like I need a shower after rooting for my team.
Thanks Korie!!! That puts it all in perspective. I've been TRYING to say the same thing, but besides the ONE word in there I wouldn't use, this guy says it MUCH better.
BTW - - - your old school chum, Twana SUBBED for 4th and 5th grade at LCS today. How cool is that???
I am also joining the cheese head cheering section for the Super Bowl.
Too late, Kathy!!! They already lost. You'll have to either join the Giants cheering blog or the Patriots - - - I HOPE you say GIANTS.
:-)
What???? I thought they won? I was in Guatemala and checked the internet during the game and they were ahead. I really thought they won. Bummer, bummer, bummer.
Eli and Co. won in overtime by a field goal.
I guess you should check the internet at least once more AFTER the game is over.
Sorry to burst your green cheese bubble!!!!!
:-)
I will be cheering for Eli then. Can you imagine being the parents of the Manning "boys"? Pressure & Pride all at the same time.
When the Giants beat the Packers Archie Manning kept putting his head down on his hands and closing his eyes. He couldn't take the pressure of watching at the end when it was all so close.
I'd LOVE to have the Giants win the Lombardi this time instead of the you know whos.
