Greg 'n Keetha Stuff

OK, let's be honest. This is really KEETHA stuff. Sometimes I write about Greg - - - but he has never in his life made one single post of his own. He has occasionally made a comment or two. So - - - come on in and visit with me, Keetha, for a while. I'd love it if you left your foot prints. (Interpretation: COMMENT PLEASE ;-)

On to the Next Project - - -

Painting the deck. I asked Greg if he wanted me to help him paint - - -

And he said, "Go back in the house and watch your football games."

That's what a BAD painter I am!!!! He didn't want to see redwood all over the siding!!! :-)

Keetha, What does Greg use on the deck and how often does he power wash and reapply? (every year or two?) Thanks!!!

Well, he hasn't power washed since the last time he applied until now just before he applied again. The first time he used a Cabot product, but this time he got the paint from his fishing buddy Mark who is a Sherwin Williams store manager.

This is only the second time since we've lived here that he's painted it. The first time was probably 4 or 5 years ago. It was only just now starting to wear in a few places, it really could have gone another season or two I suppose - - - but why "push" it.

We use a product that has some paint in it because they last longer and protect better. I actually PREFER the look of the clear coat stuff - - - but it only lasts a season or two. At least that is what the literature we read said, and what my uncle who was a True Value Hardware store manager said.

So Anon - - - was the painting YOUR Idea or your husbands? Just trying to see which two minds are thinking alike. Over here it was Greg's idea.

I see you (actually, Greg) is making use of the lack of rain. How is the lawn surviving?

We HOPE it is surviving - - - can't tell since it hasn't sprouted yet - - - but he is WATERING it every day, sometimes twice a day.

So Ronda - - - how soon can you begin PRAYING for rain??? You seemed to have been very successful in STOPPING it, so now we need you to pray it in!!!

I am the most horrible painter! If you look closely at any of our rooms, you'll see the remnants of me! I wish Brian would relieve me of the painting duties!

Greg is a perfectionist painter - - - so he can't stand my drips and smudges. He exiles me out of the area when he paints.

I don't want to paint anyway - - - so it works out just fine!!!

I am not "allowed" to paint anything. Phil said he would rather paint all by himself so he has less mess to clean up. Somehow I get the paint everywhere but where it is to be. Hair, clothes, face, furniture, yadda yadda yadda. I really like painting but just make a horrible mess. Maybe in heaven I will be a great painter ???? and it won't be considered work ????
