This is How We Roll - - -
Keetha over at Write Kudzu is discussing one of the burning questions of life: "How do we roll?" She's even taking a poll of sorts.
I could give you all the scientific explanations (direction of force, using gravity, and overcoming entropy) as to WHY there is only one RIGHT way to roll - - - - but I won't.

I´m surprised! I would have THOUGHT you to be a person who rolls the OPPOSITE way so you can grab the toilet paper easier. Hmmm. I´m ALMOST speechless.

The correct way is over the top.

When we had a cat we did it your way - now with no cat - its the other way! Its easier to find the end - the right way.
Gotta go with "over the top" !
(Years ago when there was printed toilet paper, the only way for the print to show face up was to have it come over the top). Yes, I know I just told my age, but even though I understand your "physics" logic, it is easier to grab the end with it "on top".

I also do put the toilet paper over the top. In fact, I'll go so far as to change it if I see it going the other way. To me, it's not only a matter of it being easier, but it seems like it can get dirty going the other way. You notice how your toilet paper is brushing up against the wall there? In my way, it doesn't do that. :)
I didn't even realize this was an issue in anyone's world until DJ entered our lives!!!! He is an "over the top" and I will now and then reverse just to see if it does still matter....yup, it matters to him!!!
As you can see on here, it MATTERS to a lot of people. Before DJ, did you let it go down the back? 'Cause Greg says he likes it over the top - - - but I NEVER put it that way. NEVER.
Sometimes he changes it.

Nope, over the top! Unless you live here and don't have a T.P. holder on the wall- so it just sits on top of the toilet tank. Classy I tell you.

Re: Greg's preference....I didn't remember any issues about it, and since it doesn't really matter to me....maybe he would reverse it if I did it wrong...remember, I am Libra and we like "peace" at any price!!! Ha!
Grammy - - - for the entire first 30 or so years of our marriage, I placed the roll going over the back and hubby dear never even noticed or said a word.
Then we went with his fishing buddy Lars (aka Mike) on vacation to the Northwoods lake cabin. Lars has STONG feelings about the roll direction and KEPT putting it the front way, while I kept putting it the back way.
Greg noticed this - - - big discussion ensued, and he PROMPTLY became an over the top person.
I doubt he had ever even THOUGHT of it before.
I blame Lars.
So - - - MOST of the time, the roll in the downstairs bathroom is over the top for hubby dear and the one upstairs is over the back for moi.
Another divorce averted
Over the top is the RIGHT way in the Baker household. And get this...when I worked at the Credit Union, you would actually get in TROUBLE if you were caught putting a new roll on the other way.
I think I have been guilty of switching your downstairs roll a time or two. :)
For a while dad made sure the downstairs roll was "his" way - - - but since down deep in his heart of hearts he doesn't really care since he NEVER EVEN NOTICED FOR 30 YEARS, when I forget and put that one on the other way, he doesn't notice that either.

:-) Somehow I'm not surprised to hear that. You have an absolute gift of being able to ignore the trivial!!!! That's a GOOD thing.
But I HAVE had two days of blogging fun with this particular very trivial thing!!!
