Greg 'n Keetha Stuff

OK, let's be honest. This is really KEETHA stuff. Sometimes I write about Greg - - - but he has never in his life made one single post of his own. He has occasionally made a comment or two. So - - - come on in and visit with me, Keetha, for a while. I'd love it if you left your foot prints. (Interpretation: COMMENT PLEASE ;-)

Ya Think???

My only sibling was trying to TELL me something with this birthday assortment she gave me yesteray? Hmmmmm?

She just better remember she's ONLY one year younger than I and paybacks are TOUGH!!! ;-)

(For all you readers who don't like the sound of "younger than I" and think I SHOULD have said, "younger than me" - - - I GOOGLED and "younger than I" is grammatically as well as chronologically correct!!!)

You Go, Bobby!!!

I'm talking about Bobby Bowden, coach of the FSU Seminoles, whose team will be missing 36 players when they meet the Kentucky Wildcats in the Gaylord Music City Bowl later today. A sizable chunk of these missing players is due to suspension by Coach Bowden because they cheated on (are you ready for this) an open book online MUSIC exam.

For those of you nonfootball fans, to be missing 36 players from one football team is a MASSIVE, crippling, debilitating blow. And yet, Coach Bowden has suspended his cheaters from their biggest game of the college football season.

I say, YOU GO, BOBBY!!! Way to emphasize that HONESTY means something.

Later addendum: FSU lost, but only by a TD, 35 - 28. It was a nail biter right down to the final second.

Aging Like A Fine Cheese

That's me. Today.

So - - - how did I spend my day?

It's Sunday, so we spent the morning at SS and church - - - but sorry, no pictures of that. Then we had a fifth Sunday dinner at my parents house - - - but I forgot the camera, so no pictures of that either.

I have a sneezing, coughing, runny nose cold - - - so I spent MUCH of my day using THIS - - - which was a FULL roll when the cold started. BTW, it works just as well on noses as on other parts of the anatomy.

Of course I spent some time today with my new Christmas/Birthday toy. (How do you think I made this post?!?)

This is so my dear blogging buddy Anon will recognize me.

And now to end my special day I'll indulge in my other passion - - - - FOOTBALL! The Colts are playing the Titans, which is really a moot game for us, but the BROWNS care if we win, 'cause if we beat the Titans, the Browns are IN.

Also, on another channel, is the Independence Bowl where Colorado and Bama will be fighting it out. I'm pulling for Bama, ROLL TIDE!!! I'll have to switch channels during commercials to keep up with both games. Ahhhhhhh it's like HEAVEN.

And that is how I spent my day. How did you spend yours?

Hey - - - give me the BEST birthday present of all - - - leave me a comment and let me know who you are and how you spent your day!!!

Isn't she WONDERFUL!?!

My new baby!! Specially chosen in WISCONSIN BADGER RED!!!!!

Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday to ME!!!

Now I won't need to CHOOSE between blogging and football!!!

I can blog AND IM from right in front of the TV screen WHILE I watch football!!! Isn't technology grand?!?

This is Greg pointing out that while I got a laptop for Christmas, he got a $12.50 bucket of fake leeches for fishing. (Let's not even GO to how much OTHER equipment that boy has bought for all his hobbies, NOR to what all that "stuff" cost him!!)

And before you feel TOO sorry for him, just look who's the FIRST to use my new lappy!!!

Arriving at Kama and Papoo's house.

Someone was asleep on the way!

Someone's eating for two!!!

Waiting - - -

For the Christmas Eve festivities.

The Nutcracker Kings wait on the stairs.

Everyone in the village paid their electric bill just in time to wait for Christmas Eve.

Mini wreaths wait by the kitchen door.

Even "The Grinch" waits with his root beer float, his hard little heart melted by the Christmas cheer.

Gettin' Ready - - -

For tonight - - - the BIG NIGHT when our family gathers to celebrate.

Korie made some beautiful and delicious cut-out sugar cookies.

Kyle wrapped some presents - - -

And then wrapped some more.

I packed and arranged the goodie bags - - -

Then arranged them once again. (If you knew me, you'd see why THAT was funny.)

Greg slept off working 15 hours in the ER. He'll be up and using his Dyson soon.

I'll be dusting and cooking, but not all at once - - -

Then it will be TIME!!!!

I Missed the Tour - - -

BooMama's (Google her, she's WORTH it.) Virtual Christmas Tour of Homes. I HAD to miss it, I hadn't decorated yet.

So, here's my wannabe tour. Not too exciting. Not much new. But it is what it is. I already posted pictures of our tree, so it will not reappear in this tour.

Front entry hall decked with boughs.

Moravian Star candle holders. I SWEAR these candles aren't leaning like Towers of Pisa in person. I even went down, straightened them, and retook the picture - - - it didn't help. (I gotta tell ya, the MONK in me can barely stand the way those babies are tipping!!!)

These "ornaments" are really place card holders. But they are so cute I just put them out on the entry hall table all season.

I like to make little Christmas "vignettes" here and there around the house. Keri, I put something in this one JUST FOR YOU!!!

The Christmas Cat found a comfy perch atop a hand painted stool.

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Do I Need To - - -

Switch it up?

I've only heard from people who CANNOT come to my blog party on the original day/time I chose. I'm not attached to that date/time with super glue.

If I switch things up, change the party to Friday, January 4 could more people come?

Please respond in a comment to this post. Tell me if you are planning to come on Saturday the 29th, if you could come on Friday the 4th, and which is better for you.

Pitter Patter of Little Feet - - -

Shoemakers made a post on their blog of their little tyke wearing his favorite slippers to help himself feel better when he was sick. That made me think of these:

The slippers our baby wore around the house every day when he was a toddler.

He nearly wore these "puppies" out before he outgrew them!!

Kind of hard now to imagine that they EVER fit him!!!!
